later associated with the missions at Santa María Cabujacamang, Santa Gertrudis, and San Francisco de Borja; and Southern Cochimí, spoken by more settled groups at the oases and in the highlands south of the 28th parallel and best attested from the missions of San Javier Viggé, San José Comondú, and San Ignacio Kadakaaman. Most of the scanty documentation of Cochimí comes from the Jesuit missions (1697-1767), although there are some 19th century vocabularies. As late as 1925 Harrington was able to find a person who remembered a few Northern Cochimí forms, but the language was essentially extinct by that time.",
